Meet Kelly.
Kelly is a registered nurse with over 24 years of experience. She qualified from Southampton University in 2001 and began her career in Cornwall on an acute cardiology ward. She later returned to her home on the Isle of Wight, where she spent 11 years working on a coronary care unit before training as a Heart Failure Nurse Specialist and becoming a Non-Medical Prescriber.
Kelly currently runs Island Holistic Healthcare and also works part-time at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth.
In 2022, Kelly began making changes to improve her own health by adopting the principles of lifestyle medicine. She is passionate about disease prevention and takes an integrative approach—blending traditional medical care with lifestyle strategies to empower individuals to improve their wellbeing.
Throughout her career, Kelly has remained committed to professional development. She is trained to Master’s level in both heart failure management and supportive palliative care. In addition, she is a qualified wellbeing coach, advanced life support instructor, and resilience practitioner. She has also completed teacher training in breathwork and meditation.
Kelly regularly lectures on cardiovascular disease and wellbeing to a wide range of audiences. She is an active member of several professional bodies, including the British Holistic Medical Association, the British Society for Heart Failure, the Royal College of Nursing, and the British School of Coaching.
In 2022 Kelly began to make changes to improve her own health using the lifestyle medicine model. Kelly is passionate about disease prevention, combining the traditional medical approach with lifestyle in empowering individuals to improve their wellbeing.
Kelly’s mission & Values
I created Island Holistic Healthcare as I wanted to practice what I preached and live a life that was in-line with who I am and what I believe in; holism, compassion, intuition, balance, connection, wisdom, equity, and communication. I realised my calling as a nurse and holistic practitioner was to help others find wellness in this crazy world we live in.
I am able to combine my knowledge, communication and assessment skills, along with my own lived experiences, to help support individuals in understanding and improving their own health and wellbeing along side the traditional Western medical model. Working with individuals to create bespoke health care plans, blending nursing, mentoring and coaching, for meaningful change, referring on to appropriate services where required. I support people with:
Heart Conditions
Chronic Fatigue
Autoimmune Diseases
Women’s Health
Stress, Anxiety & Depression
Following a Hospital Admission
Poor Sleep & Insomnia
Weight Issues
Long Term Health Conditions such as Hypertension and Type 2 Diabetes
